Apostles Creed, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Amen.

Gardian Angel, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Prayers To Your
Guardian Angel

Prayers for advanced angel involvement in our lives.

"Jesus, allow my guardian angel to help me in many ways throughout the day. Give me the ability to constantly communicate freely with my angel. Let my angel work in union with the appropriate Holy Saints and Holy Souls to best aid me and my loved ones in all our needs and spiritual growth. Let my angel work in union with the angels of my 'loved ones' in order to assist and comfort them in their darkness. Allow their angel to guide their thoughts by my prayers for the Spirit's grace of clarity, wisdom and strength upon them.  Allow them to think clearly without distractions or influence from the evil one.  I ask this in Your Most Holy Name, Jesus Christ.    Amen."

"God the Father and Holy Spirit. I humbly ask you to grant my 'Loved One' thy graces of clarity, wisdom & strength."

"Lord, I am not worthy to receive Your abundant graces, but only say the word and my 'Loved One(s)' shall be blessed."

In the simplest, most humble form:
(Say with heart felt trust as often as you can. The bible promises it will be granted to all those who ask.)

"God the Father, Holy Spirit;
  clarity, wisdom, strength."

"Good morning my Angel from God.  Thank You for being my friend and guardian.  Remind me daily to rebuke my fear, doubt and distractions and always guide my thoughts for the greater glory of God.  Amen."

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
To whom God's love
commits me here,
Ever this day, be at my side,
To light and guard,
Rule and guide.

Amen.

All people have Guardian Angels, but we must ask our Angels for help before they can intervene.

Treat your angel like a trusted friend.  Tell them your thoughts and your daily concerns.  Ask them to help with all your important decisions.  Your angle communicates to you through your thoughts.  Ask Jesus to let you distinguish between heavenly thoughts and the deceptive thoughts seeded by the evil one.

"Jesus, help me to recognize when my Angel or the Spirit is guiding my thoughts.

Help me to distinguish and bind the deceptive thoughts of the evil one.

I ask this in your most Holy Name Jesus.  Amen."

Praying, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Act of Contrition

O
my God, I am heartily sorry
for having offended Thee, and I
detest all my sins, because I dread
the loss of heaven, and the pains
of hell, but most of all because they
offend Thee my God, who are all
good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve with the help of
Thy grace, to confess my sins,
to do penance, and to amend my life.

Amen.

Host, Beautiful Catholic Prayers
Act of Spiritual
Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are
present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I
desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already
there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated
from You.

Amen.

Crucifix, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from Christ's side, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.

Within Thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated  from Thee.
From the malicious enemy defend me.

In the hour of my death call me.
And bid me come unto Thee.
That I may praise Thee
with Thy saints
and with Thy angels,
forever and ever.

Amen.

Candle, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Candles, Beautiful Catholic Prayers
Christ Candle
of Hope

God, our loving Father, you sent your Son,
Jesus Christ, into this world to counter all the forces of evil: sin, suffering and death, and to overcome evil with the force of good; hatred with the power of love, your great love for us in Jesus.

Help us never to curse the darkness, but to join with you in bringing Your light into this world, the light that is your Son, born of the Virgin Mary, in Bethlehem. Help us to be instruments of your light and love by doing one special act of kindness or by being your special instrument of reconciliation this New Year.

May the Christ Candle we light symbolize our desire to bring light into a world of darkness and hope into a world of despair. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

A portion of the Shroud of Turin.
Holy Face

O Blessed Face of my kind Savior, by the tender love and piercing sorrow of Our Lady as she beheld You in Your cruel Passion, grant us to share in this intense sorrow and love so as to fulfill the holy will of God to the utmost of our ability.

Amen.

Prayer to the
Holy Face

O Lord Jesus Christ, in presenting ourselves before Thine adorable Face to ask of Thee the graces of which we stand most in need, we beseech Thee, above all, to grant us that interior disposition of never refusing at any time to do what Thou requires of us by Thy holy commandments and divine inspirations.

 Amen.

Prayer of St. Pius IX to the Holy Face

"O My Jesus, cast upon us a look of mercy; turn Thy Face towards each of us as Thou did to Veronica; not that we may see it with our bodily eyes, for this we do not deserve; but turn it towards our hearts, so that remembering Thee we may ever draw from this fountain the strength the vigor necessary to sustain the combats of life. Amen."

The
Magnificat

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.

Amen.

Mary, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

St Patrick, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

Lorica of Saint Patrick (modified-we)

We arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.

We arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

We arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In obedience of angels
in Heaven,
In service of archangels for God,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs
before Christ,
In preachings of the apostles to kingdoms,
In faiths of confessors and priests,
In innocence of virgins and children,
In deeds of righteous men and women.

We arise today
Through the strength of heaven
above,
by the Light of the sun
in the sky,
the Splendor of fire and ash,
the Speed of lightning from the clouds,
the Swiftness of the wind across the plains,
the Depth of the sea from the shores,
the Stability of the earth around the sun,
and the Firmness of the rock in the ground.

We arise today
Through God's strength to pilot us
for ever,
God's might to uphold us
in weakness,
God's wisdom to guide us in thought,
God's eye to look before us in darkness,
God's ear to hear us
in praise,
God's word to speak for us in wisdom,
God's hand to guard us
in peril,
God's way to lie before us by example,
God's shield to protect us from evil,
God's hosts to save us from damnation,
From snares of the devil,
From temptations of vices,
From every one who desires us ill,
Afar and a near,
Alone or in a multitude.

We summon today all these powers between us and evil,
Against every cruel merciless power that opposes our body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of women and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ shield us today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
Against storms and floods and all natural disasters
that threaten our lives and safety.

So that reward may come to us in abundance.

Christ with us, Christ before us, Christ behind us.
Christ in us, Christ beneath us, Christ above us.
Christ on our right, Christ on our left,
Christ when we lie down, Christ when we sit down.
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of us.
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of us.
Christ in the eye that sees us.
Christ in the ear that hears us.

We arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.

Amen.

StJeseph with Jesus, Beautiful Catholic Prayers
Devotion to
St. Joseph

To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and having implored the help of your most holy spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.

Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood,  and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.

O most watchful Guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting influence;

O our most mighty protector, be propitious to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness; and, as once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God's Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity;
shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection,
so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die holily, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.

Amen.

St Michael the Archangel, Beautiful Catholic Prayers
Prayer For Help Against
Spiritual Enemies

Glorious Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, who stands always ready to give assistance to the people of God; who fought with the dragon, the old serpent, and cast him out of heaven, and now valiantly defends the Church of God that the gates of hell may never prevail against her, I earnestly entreat you to assist me also, in the painful and dangerous conflict which I sustain against the same formidable foe.

Be with me, O mighty Prince! that I may courageously fight and vanquish that proud spirit, whom you, by the Divine Power, gloriously overthrew, and whom our powerful King, Jesus Christ, has, in our nature, completely overcome; so having triumphed over the enemy of my salvation, I may with you and the holy angels, praise the clemency of God who, having refused mercy to the rebellious angels after their fall, has granted repentance and forgiveness to fallen man.

Amen.

Be our protector against
the wickedness
and snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Divine Child Jesus, Beautiful Catholic Prayers

  Novena to the
Divine Child Jesus

Divine Child Jesus, we believe in You; We adore You; and we love You; have mercy on us, sinners.

We've come to this Temple in response to your love. We've come in response to your mercy and grace. We are here because You invited us to come before You and to pour out the cares of our hearts to You since You deeply care for each of us.

We remember Your words to the disciples: Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened. Trusting in your infinite goodness and trusting that You always keep your promise, we now ask this intention which we pray in the silence of our hearts...<silently mention the request>...

Thank you, Divine Child Jesus, for listening attentively to our prayers all the time. We hope that You will ask this before Our Heavenly Father. And, if what we ask for may not be good for our salvation and sanctification, we trust that you will grant us instead what we truly need, so that one day we may be with You for all eternity enjoying that ultimate happiness of Heaven.

Divine Child Jesus, bless and protect us.
Divine Child Jesus, bless and lead us.
Divine Child Jesus, bless and provide for us.

All this we ask through the intercession of your Holy Mother, Mary, and in Your powerful and Most Holy Name, Jesus.

Amen

Hail Mary, lowly handmaid of the Lord, Glorious Mother of Christ! Faithful Virgin, holy dwelling-place of the Word, Teach us to persevere in listening to the Word, and to be docile to the voice of the Spirit, attentive to his promptings in the depths of our conscience and to his manifestations in the events of history.

Hail Mary, Woman of sorrows, Mother of the living! Virgin spouse beneath the Cross, the new Eve, Be our guide along the paths of the world. Teach us to experience and to spread the love of Christ, to stand with you before the innumerable crosses on which your Son is still crucified.

A MORNING PRAYER WRITTEN BY ST. THERESE

O my God! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to Its infinite merits; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.

O my God! I ask of Thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in heaven for all Eternity.

Amen.

PRAYER TO ST. THERESE

O little St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love strong as death, and of wholehearted abandonment to God, now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues, cast a glance of pity on me as I leave all things in your hands. Make my troubles your own - speak a word for me to our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love you were - to that Queen of heaven "who smiled on you at the dawn of life." Beg her as the Queen of the heart of Jesus to obtain for me by her powerful intercession, the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment, and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life. Defend me at the hour of death, and lead me straight on to a happy eternity.

Amen

Amen.
